The Labour Welfare Superintendent is a Group ‘B’ administrative and enforcement official operating within the Labour Welfare Department of MCD. Key responsibilities include:
Enforcing Legal Codes: Monitoring and implementing labour legislation such as the Factories Act, Minimum Wages Act, Maternity Benefit Act, and Labour Disputes Act.
Executing Social Security Schemes: Directing labour welfare, healthcare, and sanitation initiatives at MCD work sites.
Dispute & Grievance Mediation: Resolving conflicts between workers, trade unions, and MCD management, as well as participating in conciliation proceedings before Assistant/Deputy Labour Commissioners.
Inspections & Audits: Conducting health, safety, and sanitation audits across municipal work zones.
Welfare Fund Management: Distributing financial aid, scholarships, and injury compensation from MCD welfare funds.
Key Terms & Conditions
Tenure: The engagement is purely on a contractual basis initially for 6 months, extendable every 6 months until regular appointments are made through DSSSB.
Notice Period: The contract can be terminated by either party with a 1-month advance notice or payment of 1 month’s remuneration.
Leave & Benefits: Entitled to 1 day paid leave per month. Benefits like PF, Gratuity, Pension, or Seniority are not applicable.
Stamp Paper: Selected candidates must submit a contract agreement on a Rs. 100/- Non-Judicial stamp paper attested by a Notary Public at joining.
